"Alan C. Martin studied painting at The West Sussex College of Art and Design in Worthing, West Sussex, where he was a student from the years 1982-1987. He worked alongside artists Philip Bond and Jamie Hewlett, the three friends would go on to create comics together. His tutors were artists Jan Wright, Gordon Coldwell, David Mills (assistant to Bridget Riley in the 1960s), and the renowned ceramicist and potter Trentham De Leliva."
