ATOM TAN "NEON PINK" EDITION (with poster and badge!)
Since our 30th Anniversary edition of Atom Tan sold out a couple of years ago, we have been asked repeatedly if we will ever be doing a second run. We struggled with the idea of printing something similar, as it was sold as a limited edition, and we felt we had to honour that. So here is our solution, which we feel fits very well with Atom Tan's punky, indie aesthetic - ATOM TAN - THE NEON PINK EDITION!
From the 30th anniversary edition listing -
"In June 1987, while still studying at Worthing Art College, Jamie Hewlett, Phil Bond, and I launched our first published work - Atom Tan issue #1 - printed on the staff photocopier and selling amongst fellow students for fifty pence.
Since then, the comic has become a minor legend, having been the birth place of Tank Girl in her own one-page advert. Original copies are very rare, fetching high prices when they come up at auctions."
We are now offering this new special edition, printed at half-size (A5) on NEON PINK paperstock, and retaining all of its original photocopied blemishes and drop-outs, it looks like a radioactive version of its original incarnation from over three decades ago. 28 pages, hand-signed on the back cover by myself (Alan, Tank Girl co-creator), with space of further signatures.
Also in the pack is an A3 fold-out poster of the original 1987 Tank Girl page, printed onto yellow Neon paper. Hand signed in fade-proof ink by myself.
You will also receive a one-and-a-half inch Atom Tan badge/pin, featuring Phil Bond's original logo from the comic, in one of four Neon colourways - green, pink, yellow, or orange (please don't specify a colour, as they are all packed randomly).
This item represents the first printed appearance of Tank Girl and the first published work of Jamie Hewlett.
Each pack is handled, folded, and packaged by ourselves, which makes for a somewhat home-made feel.
